Sheila A. Zeineth
was born in Washington, DC to Mary Bridget
O’Neill of Readville, MA and Michael J. DiLeo of Glen Cove. Her parents met
each other at the St. Matthews Cathedral Club in D.C. and raised their
family in Maryland. The family returned to Glen Cove in 1984 after her
mother passed away. Sheila finished college at NYIT in Westbury receiving
her BFA in Interior Design. Sheila learned about community service by observing/watching her parents at a young age participate in the PTA, Knights of Columbus, VFW and her dad’s WWII Army unit the 46th AIB of the 5th Armored Division. She combined this with her artistic ability as early as high school by doing props and set designing for the annual plays/musicals and also with the local opera company. When she moved to Glen Cove she joined the Long Beach Theatre Guild starting with props and moved up to Stage Manager and also became a board member. She continues this closer to home now with Glen Cove’s own Theatre II of which she is a board member and resident stage manager. Sheila was married in St. Pat’s and has 3 children – Matthew, Alexandra and Jeremy in the Glen Cove Schools where after serving on several committees and board positions is immediate Past Co-President for the Deasy Elementary School PTA. She is currently the LAOH Div. 8 President serving her 2nd term and since becoming a Hibernian is an active member of the Glen Cove Parade Committee serving as the Sponsor Journal chairperson the last 3 years. She continues to seek out volunteer opportunities whether in support of her children, her Church or her Irish Heritage." |
